Responsibilities

Works under the general supervision of AVP Legal Counsel to complete objectives established by the Grow Financial Legal Department.  Uses a high level of initiative and discretion in prioritizing work and performing duties that are complex and confidential in nature (including but not limited to, proprietary and privileged documents, member nonpublic personal information, and employee information). Performs contract drafting and review using track changes and the compare function in Word, contract database management and file maintenance, corporate governance matters, litigation support, research, correspondence, and special projects. The Corporate Paralegal will handle competing priorities and will work comfortably will all levels of internal clients and outside legal professionals.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Associates degree in paralegal studies or a Bachelor of Arts/Science degree required. Certified Paralegal Credential preferred.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated success in corporate legal support and coordination required, preferably in a financial institution or other financial services company, or in a private law firm.
  • Advanced Excel, Power Point, Word required. Must be able to use Word features, including Track Changes, Compare, styles.
  • Working knowledge of banking laws, contract review and negotiations and SharePoint required.
  • Prior Credit Union experience preferred.
  • Exposure to a wide range of legal issues and disciplines, ideally in a fast-paced, high-growth financial institution or other financial services company preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, climbing, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.
  • Must be able to hear and use a telephone.
  • Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment

  • This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations.
