    We are currently looking for an College Intern for our Legal & Compliance Dept. The Internship will run from May -Aug 2018. The Internship is Full Time (40 hours) with hours from 8 am- 5pm. Monday-Friday.


    • Primarily responsible for providing assistance and support for the credit union’s regulatory compliance program. 
    • Responsible for conducting research to provide written regulatory interpretation and application of principles to the credit union’s operations. 
    • Will be introduced to and required to get up to speed on laws and regulations applicable to the credit union industry. 
    • Will provide assistance and support to the credit union’s Chief Legal Officer and Assistant General Counsel on various and ongoing legal projects regarding vendor contracts, member complaints, the credit union’s foundation, and support to the Legal Services team (deceased accounts, subpoenas, garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, and guardianships).
    • Works under objectives established by the department, using a high level of initiative and discretion in prioritizing work and performing duties that are generally complex and confidential in nature. 
    • Candidate must be accustomed to a fast-paced environment.  Ability to multi-task and handle competing priorities required.




    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at USF or UT. Successful completion of at least two years (sophomore level) of school with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
    • Experience in fast-paced environment handling projects or tasks that require extreme attention to detail (prior in-house and/or financial institution experience preferred).
    • Excellent written and verbal skills; adept at communicating in a positive, professional manner.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate and work well with the public, the Board of Directors, and all levels of management and staff.
    • Judgment, discretion, and analytical skills necessary to work independently, prioritize workload, and gather and /or direct information and data; ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of office operations.
    • Requires personal computer experience, including keyboarding skills and competencies in use of personal computers, networks and the application of word processing, spreadsheet, and email software (Microsoft Office Suite) and matter management software. Must be able to see, hear, type repetitive keystrokes and speak and write English; bi-lingual helpful. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and sit for extended periods of time. Some bending and stretching will also be required.
